2022-2023 Season - Our 10th! Six Events to Announce

Dear friends,


We are thrilled to announce our 10th anniversary concert season!


All are welcome to join us for these concert events. Tickets are available for all performances. Part of what we do to bring classical music to Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.


Friday, October 21, 2022 - 7:30 PM - Vieness Piano Duo from California performs Brahms, Schubert, Saint-Saëns, and a world premiere by Alice Ping Yee Ho. Based in Southern California, Vijay Venkatesh and Eva Schaumkell combine their artistry for a magnificent evening of duet music - repertoire old and new!


Friday, November 4, 2022 - 4:30 - 7:00 PM - We will be hosting cellist and gambist Elinor Frey for an intimate masterclass and concert! Elinor is the artistic director of Accademia de’ Dissonanti, an organization for performance and research, and she has performed throughout the Americas and in Europe in recital and with numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras (Constantinople, Il Gardellino, Tafelmusik, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, Arion, Les idées heureuses, etc.).



Friday, November 25, 2022 - 7:30 PM - Han Chen (piano) and Christopher Lee (clarinet) - We are delighted to welcome New York based prize-winning pianist Han Chen to our stage. The first half features solo piano music by Beethoven and two world premieres by Canadian composers Alice Ping Yee Ho and Jared Miller. The second half features music for clarinet and piano by Schumann and Brahms.


Saturday, January 28, 2023 - 7:30 PM - Fire! Fire! - Singers of the Vancouver Chamber Choir in an evening of madrigals. We are delighted to be presenting in the Annex - an intimate performance space downtown. In the bleak winter, this intimate presentation of rarely heard secular madrigals of Italy and England is bound to warm even the most rainy Vancouver day!


Saturday, April 1, 2023 - 7:30 PM - Ostara Project with Allison Au (saxophone), Jodi Proznick (bass), Mili Hong (drums) - With generous support from the BC Arts Council, we are delighted to present a trio of Canada's top female jazz artists. This co-presentation with The Infidels Jazz is sure to be popular so grab your tickets while you still can! This will be a very fun evening indeed!


Friday, May 12, 2023 - 7:30 PM - Songs of Desire - We close our season with the music of Schumann and a new commission by composer Ian Cusson. Associate conductor of the Vancouver Opera, Leslie Dala, and renowned tenor, Asitha Tennekoon, will perform an evening of art song. It's spring time, so you know it will be about love!


We hope to see you this year and next as we celebrate our celebrate our 10th season of concerts, bringing classical music to Vancouver in unique and important ways!
